Sew in Style Skirt Sew Along!

We will start Thursday and it will also be a 2 day Sew Along. I’d like us to think about how we can transform a regular skirt into something different, to give the skirt a whole new look–make it something extraordinary. We’ll use the Flounce Skirt pattern–just the main skirt pattern piece (#5), making this a beginner project and super fast and fun to make 🙂

I will also show you an alternative way to sew the bias tape waistband to the skirt.

It’s time to get creative and think of all the ways we can use this basic skirt and different trims to have a closet full of skirts! See the example on page 110 of your Sew in Style book (also shown above). That’s one way.

Start gathering your materials:

1 fat quarter of fabric

1/4 yard extra wide, double folded bias tape

1/2 yard of trim, such as ribbons, lace, and what not. Time to check out all the trims in your stash or browse through the isle at your fabric store for inspiration.

We’ll get started first thing Thursday morning. So look for the post here on the blog, and the announcement on the Avery Lane Designs Facebook page.

Until then, keep sewing and sharing your projects!
