A Cute St Patrick’s Day Tunic

A Cute St Patrick’s Day Tunic

Just in time for the holiday. A men’s dress shirt can be upcycled into many things. I wanted to make something green for my daughter that she would want to wear more than just once. I found Amazing Mae’s post and gained some inspiration.

Valentine’s Day Top Ottobre 2/2013

Valentine’s Day Top Ottobre 2/2013

I love the simplicity of this pattern from Ottobre magazine, spring/summer issue 2013. I made the version #16 with the color blocking, using pink and white. I thought it would look great running around doing my mom thing today. I loved how it went together

This Ottobre T-shirt sewing pattern, from their summer issue 2007 (3/2007),  has been my daughter’s favorite style for a few years now. She requests this style more than any other T-shirt. This issue has a lot of really cute styles. But for my tween, it’s

Sweater upcycle, from v-neck to cardigan

An upcycle sweater project, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Here is a sewing tutorial to make your very own ruffle cardigan sweater.   So I had this sweater that fit too tight for my comfort level. Gorgeous silk blend sweater with 3/4 sleeves, but

Upcycle Sewing Tutorial: pants to doll skirts

Upcycle Sewing Tutorial: pants to doll skirts

A sewing  tutorial for  adorable skirts for your 18 inch dolls, like American Girl dolls, from re-purposed pants. I may have just found a new way to motivate myself to get my hemming done sooner. An easy upcycle project came to me as I was

Buttons: a Love-Hate Relationship

Buttons are so darn cute, until they fall off and no longer serve their intended purpose. I love their perky cuteness, and hate having to sew them back on–I guess it’s really all mending which I loathe, and it seems that  I avoid it at
