Final week of the Avery Lane Sewing Bee

Final week of the Avery Lane Sewing Bee

The finalist were sent the final brief Saturday, November 26 and are in the final days of their deadline to sew one last time.

The finalists:

Diana

Diana has been sewing for 55 years. She has lived NE Ohio most of her life, and is now enjoying her retirement. Over the years, Diana has made clothing for herself and family, quilts both large and small, and of course doll clothes.  “Dolls are very accommodating to sew for since they always show up for fittings, and never complain about the color or style.”

Janet

Janet has been sewing for about 8 years. She likes to push herself to try new patterns and use different fabrics, from a cowboy dress shirt with vinyl yokes and a fully lined coat.

Andee

Andee started sewing on the sewing machine 25 years ago, but had been hand sewing before that. Her latest sewing achievements include a suffragette doll, which she made a bustle underskirt and learn to work with boning.

I’ll post all three final “show stopper” entries as soon as the deadline has passed.

In the meantime, I thought it’d be nice to look back at some of the amazing handmade garments we’ve seen throughout the competition.

Stop back by in a few days to see what the 3 finalists create for the final challenge.
