Week 3 Results

Week 3 was really tough competition.

Dana and I were up late discussing the decisions. We decided it was best to take a break and decide early the next morning. We felt everyone would rather that we be sure about our decision. It was a hard one to make.

There were 2 we couldn’t decide from and telling someone to leave the competition is not something either of us felt should be made lightly. We know that everyone put so much thought and time into sewing their entries.

First for the more pleasant of the two decisions, though this was also hard. 

There were several that did very unique embellishments, and all the designs were great. We loved all the designs this week. So many of you were so creative! Hand embroidery, handmade bead trim, even smocking! This week there were easily many that deserved the Garment of the Week. 

 This person chose to sew floating rick rick rack and finished it off with a rick rack rosette. Congratulations, Andee! You are this week’s maker of the Garment of the Week!

For the unhappy news, I want to say first that everyone did an amazing job. Everyone in this competition is very talented. 

 We looked really hard at all the designs. We looked at the embellishments, fabric choices, and sewing, as well as the overall look.  

I’m so sorry to say the person leaving the competition this week is Marlene. We wish you all the best and are sad to see you leave the competition, as you have made some amazing dresses.

Week 4 brief was sent out yesterday, after the competitors were told the results of Week 3.
