Doll Days SWAP Sewing Challenge Winners
What a fun sewing challenge the Doll Days SWAP challenge was! The SWAP collections were so impressive and beautiful. The members of the Avery Lane Patterns Sewing group on facebook voted and the winners announced. This is an image heavy post…I wanted to share as many of the SWAP collections as possible 🙂
A huge thank you to Art Gallery Fabrics for sponsoring this sewing challenge and donating the prizes for the winners. I love using Art Gallery fabrics and prefer them for clothing (doll and people). They drape so welkl and they have such gorgeous color palettes. Check out their latest collections on their website here.
Each of the winners will receive a gorgeous fabric bundle from Art Gallery Fabrics.
The sewing challenge was to sew with a purpose of creating a wardrobe collection that mixed and matched, well coordinated separates using only patterns from Doll Days! Sew an Everyday Wardrobe for 18″ Dolls, like American Girl Dolls. Accessories and bonus patterns were allowed. There were so many great collections submitted–definitely tough competition!
I created 2 new bonus patterns to add to their collections (bonus patterns are either available on the blog, or guest blog posts by me, and those given to members of our facebook group.
The long pants bonus pattern and spring jacket bonus pattern shown here really help to interchange with different pieces to create new looks.
See my completed SWAP collection in this post.

Second place entry, sewn by Liana G
Third place entry, sewn by Bee C
Here are some of the other entries. I loved them all! It is so inspiring and motivating to see their creativity and amazing sewing skills in action. As always, the level of participation really made this challenge so fun and a massive success! Thank you to everyone who worked hard to plan, design, and sew such amazing entries.
Congratulations to all who entered-it was really hard to choose just one!! We are now doing a sewing room organization/clean-up challenge, which seems like an appropriate time for it 🙂
