DDB Challenge Winners!
Why is it that we can’t wait for summer, thinking there will be so much free time to play, go on day trips, and get to that to-do list, only to find we’re just as busy as ever? It always seems to be this way, and so it is this summer as well. I can’t believe we are half-way through July!
Our blueberries are ripe and made for lovely crêpes last night 🙂 Puppy Lucy is doing great, keeping me busy, taking advantage of all the nature parks in our area. She’s 7 months old now and is such a joy!
The Doll Dress Boutique Spring Challenge has just ended and I’ve picked the winners for all the prizes in the beginning of the month. What a blast it has been! So many gorgeous dresses were sewn and shared; we had so much positive encouragement and support going on. Thank you to everyone who helped make the challenge fun and a massive success!

The grand prize was an American Girl Doll of your choice. The winner, Marge, has chosen her doll and already sewn a pretty dress for her. She has named her Avery and used the Modern-vintage Sundress pattern from Doll Days! Sew an Everyday Wardrobe for 18″ Dolls. Avery and her dress are absolutely adorable, don’t you think?
There were 11 runner-up prizes: dress kits, with which to create the exact dresses from Doll Dress Boutique. The packages are shipping out today, along with some additional tiny buttons and trims-just because tiny is so fun. Is it just me or does everyone believe anything tiny is cute?
The best part of the challenge is all the inspiration that goes on during the challenge. That is of immeasurable worth. Along with the positive support makes these challenges epic!
Thank you again to everyone who joined in and congratulations to all the winners 🙂
I’m looking forward to the next Doll Dress Boutique Challenge and the Launch Party for my new book, Me & My 18″ Doll. More details will be coming soon. Make sure to join our creative Facebook group, so you can join in! Search: Avery Lane Patterns Sewing Group, or click on this link.
Happy Sewing!
