Creative Spaces Blog Hop Week 6 – Tools, Rulers,
This blog hop has been so great. It’s a brilliant idea. 16 designers, and we’re sharing organizing tips each week based on a common prompt.
This week’s prompt has me at a loss as for what to post. My rulers are not organized [hides face]. I used to have them hung up on hooks according to size and purpose, but have not done anything for them since moving my sewing room.
I do have the little ones in a drawer, but that’s the extent of my organizing them in the new space. The large french curve, hip curve and large straight edge rulers are just leaning against a wall near the cutting table. They don’t fit in a drawer and I haven’t figured out where best to hang them, so they are neglectfully just leaning around. I know…it’s very shameful.
My tools. I’m sorry to say are in a similar state. I don’t have too much in the way of “system” for keeping them organized–other than try to remember where I keep that such-and such tool when I need it. Let’s see.
Rotary cutters, scissors, and seam rippers are kept in a drawer…things that cut. I have this gray one for cutting paper and craft use. The blue one with an X has the nicked or dull blade in it.
But you’ll find my most used cutting devices in this table top organizer.
I’ve been non-stop sewing these past weeks, so many of my tools are scattered about in the trays on my cutting and sewing machine tables. Not a good example of how to stay organized, I’m afraid. What has been great about this week: I’ve gotten so many great tips from other designers. My shopping list is growing 🙂
Remember to stop back by next week to see if you won my little giveaway!
