Easy Knot-bow Ponytail Holder Tutorial

Easy Knot-bow Ponytail Holder Tutorial

Super on trend right now are these cute knot bows. I used my knot bow pattern from the Doll Days! blog tour to create these adorable ponytail holders. Get the pattern here

I printed at actual size for girls and 78% for a cute doll ponytail holder. When I print at 78%, the test inch square measures slightly more than 3/4″. Pattern is now updated to include full size pattern for both girls and dolls – enjoy!!

Materials Needed

fat quarter of quilting cotton fabric

ponytail band

Sewing Instructions

Step 1

Download and print out the pattern. Optional: Trace it onto Pellon easy pattern or Swedish tracing paper.

Step 2

Cut out 2 pieces on the fold per ponytail holder.

Step 3

Sew together the fabric pieces, with a 1/4″ seam allowance and right sides together, leaving an opening on one straight edge.  Clip the curved edges.

Step 4

Turn it right side out and press.

Step 5

Press the raw edges of the opening to the inside and sew the opening closed.

Step 6

Tie onto the ponytail holder.

That’s it. It’s sew quick, right?  Makes a wonderful accessory for a holiday or special day outfit. Perfect present topper or stocking stuffer. I personally think it’s a great thank you party favor gift!

Just tie into a knot and you can sew it to a scrunchie for really cute look. See my scrunchie tutorial here. Matching dolly and me headbands, too. So many possibilities 🙂

Enjoy!
