Flying Geese Apron
Today’s my day. The day when my guest post goes live over at the AccuQuilt blog. A Flying Geese Apron sewing tutorial. Pop over and see it; give it a like and tell me what you think of my little holiday apron. Here’s the link. It even has a cute as a button towel holder.
Don’t forget to add the shank!
I created this apron using the AccuQuilt GO! Flying Geese cutting die (click here to see the die cutter on the AccuQuilt site), which made things go so much more quickly. I used these cute Dear Stella Tinsel Town Fabrics to give it a holiday/wintery theme. (check out Dear Stella fabrics here)
I added some other fabrics that match and separated them into light and dark values.
See what happens when I make it black and white? The light and dark values are more clearly seen.
Matched up a light with a dark fabric and went to town cutting out the geese, which took very little time with the Accuquilt cutter.
Make sure I like my plan as a finished project.
Chain stitching makes it go much more quickly. Sew one side of each geese.
And press.
Sew the other side and there you have it: 36 flying geese.
Sewn into pretty rows, and then into a very pretty and unique apron!
It makes a great gift! Remember to add the cute Hexagon Cupcake Appliqué dish towel to complete the gift set. Get the tutorial here in this post 🙂
Happy sewing (and baking!)!
