Sew Fun!
The past week has been a very busy one. I can’t believe it’s been over a week since my last post. I’ve been working on a new doll pattern. It’s with some testers right now. I’ve also been holding a skater skirt workshop for some 4-H students and busy with sewing classes as well.
It’s always fun to see the finished projects (and proud smiles!). This week we had several finished projects to share and model in the Sewing Club class. A lot of times, we are too busy sewing to remember to take pictures, but not this weekend! [mobile pics aren’t the ideal tho]
First up: the ever-popular zippered cross body purse project! She did a great sewing job! Very cute!
2 students made the Fat quarter Bundle Skirt. They cut out all their panels, sewed them up, and were so thrilled when the skirts were finished that they wore them for the rest of the day!
They both picked all the fabrics themselves–they did a wonderful job of picking coordinating fabrics! I also love how they chose to embellish the hems.
One young student made a skater skirt for herself. After searching for a good pattern or tutorial, I ended up drafting her a pattern. She sewed it up beautifully.
When cleaning up her scraps of fabric, this student designed and sewed a matching headband all by herself. She’s 8 years old and she rocked it!
All 3 skirts look amazing, don’t they?!
I’m working on several product reviews and hope to post those in March! The doll clothes pattern should be ready next week 🙂
