More Kids Sewing

I wanted to post a picture I received today. This was sent in by Anna from Tennessee. Anna made the Sleep Mask project from her Sew in Style book. It looks fabulous!

The Sleep Mask has a lot of tricky curves to sew and Anna did an amazing sewing job! Anna made her with felt and ruffle elastic. She used her “Sew Cool” sewing machine to stitch it all together.

A tip for those who are new to sewing curves: mark your stitching line with a fabric marker and sewing gauge. You can also follow the instructions on page 32 of your Sew in Style book.

For those who may be trying to decide on a first project, projects with mostly straight seams are best to start with. Some first projects that I suggest are the messenger bag, pillowcase, drawstring backpack, and mini skirt projects.

Thanks, Anna! for sending in a picture of you and your doll wearing her new sleep mask that you made for her.   Keep up the terrific sewing!
