Road Trip: I’m off to a sewing expo

I’ve been so busy lately with family activities (4-H, birthdays, college visits, music concerts & competitions, and scholarship competitions), but Friday it’s going to be all about me! I’m off  on a road trip to a sewing expo and looking forward to joining a big sewing party. When I asked my dh if he wanted to come, he says that he’s not sure that he wants to be in a space with that many people who only want to talk about sewing. Well, why not!?! It’s sounds great to me 🙂 I could probably talk about sewing all day!

The expo is doing a charity event and I made these pillowcases to contribute. Of course, I didn’t follow their instructions. I made them to 4-H judging standards, lol. They took a bit longer to sew up, but they’re all pressed and ready.

This will be my first sewing expo. With 4 kids within 6 years, I’ve always felt too busy to take time  for me.  Sure, my husband and I have date night regularly, and we’ve gotten away a few times, but I think it might feel differently being away and have actual me time. I’m looking forward to hanging out with other sewing enthusiasts and meeting some great people.  I’m taking a couple of classes and plan to do a bit of shopping.
