The Great Parcheesi Game (that wouldn’t end)
Maybe an even bigger feat is that the board and pieces have stayed pretty much in the same positions for several days, completely undisturbed. Monday night, family night, we started a harmless game of Parcheesi. You know the kind: a quick game before bedtime? Well not so much, we played a bit past bedtime and still did not end the game. Almost stopping several times, we thought someone was sure to win soon. Not. So we kept on gaming.
At one point, I thought for sure my youngest, having all four of her pieces sent to her start-including her “almost home” piece- all in one round, would flip the board and the game would end in default. Nope, she went in the other room for a cool down, returning with a quest of sweet revenge. Parcheesi is full of revenge. (not at all a competitive game)
So here it sits for the fourth day. Maybe tonight someone will win. Or maybe it will be the never ending game.
Do you have a night set aside for family time? If so, what do you and your family like to do? Any favorite games?
