DIY and Fabric Giveaway

This week we’ve been remodeling and there’s  lots of painting going on, which means no sewing or much else has been going on. I’m looking forward to it being done and setting up my sewing area again. My kids have been helping–which is great right?! Well, 1 thing that’s happened as a result is they are catching the DIY bug. Both younger kids now want to re-paint their rooms. This would mean we wouldn’t be done as soon. But more importantly, we would be painting over a part of my daughters’ childhood.

You see, both girls were living at home their shared a room. 1 loved purple and the other loved green. Instead of having to choose. I painted purple and green polka dots all over their room.  Above their headboards I added their names. It’s been like this since they were little. Not only did it take forever to carefully paint all those dots, but it’s not something I’m ready to just wipe out of existence.  She will have to live with polka dots a little longer. Maybe over winter break?

You can see which girl loved green and which one loved purple. The wall is a very pale yellow (but you can’t tell that from my pictures)

Maybe I should wait until I can take decent photos of the room before I erase the dots? She wants blue now. The dots were fun, but I suppose it’s her room and she wants to move on.

On to the moment many have been waiting for…. the Riley Blake Giveaway! I used Random.org to choose a number. It chose number 48. Congratulations, Lori Morton! Your comment was the 48th 🙂

Thanks for all the lazy days ideas! Lori—I remember sewing with my grandma! Those were some of the best lazy summer days from my childhood!

Thank you to all who entered.

Happy Sewing!
