Busy Time of Year

Busy Time of Year

Isn’t it? It seems we always have so many things going on and little time to get all we want to get done done. Each child has a list of what he or she would like to do and coordinating as a family can seem almost impossible now that we have an adult child who works and goes to college.  We’ve gone to 4 music concerts, which is always a treat! One  concert was with my oldest child  playing in the university’s wind symphony, which was a new experience for us. My son is a senior and acting student conductor, so he was in 3 different bands and playing instruments I  have never seen him play before. At one point, he was tossing fake snow on another student as part of the act. Unfortunately we were laughing so hard at his antics (good thing we sit in the back row of the balcony) I didn’t hear much of the actual song playing. All my kids had solos this year, which was also a first. So much going on.

I was also at a book signing last week for my book, Sew in Style -Make your own Doll Clothes,  and I have another one scheduled for this Saturday(Dec, 13th). If you’re in the area, stop by and say hello…I would love to meet! I’ll be at the fabulous fabric store, Mill End, at their Beaverton location from 11 am to 2pm. Here’s a photo I took of my set up at the last book signing. Kids and dolls welcome! It was fun to chat with some amazing young people, who are  learning to sew, and about their dolls, too 🙂

Holiday parties, plays, and 4-H service projects have also kept me busy. Our 4-H group made 52 fleece hats to donate to a local charity. Building skills and community at the same time. Good Times!

I’ve also been learning a new sewing technique  and working on a book review to share with you soon. But more importantly, sewing gifts! I hope to have some pictures to share soon. Hope you’re enjoying your holiday season!
